Fryars - Virtual Reality Games

Fryars - Virtual Reality Games

The video for Fryars - Virtual Reality Games is a mixed-media animation depicting one man’s journey into a virtual world and away from the real one. Released during the first lockdown of 2020, its introspection is timely. I know I disappeared into my Nintendo Switch a lot during the making of this one.

The video features 2D animation and illustration mixed in with After Effects animation, cellphone footage, and 3D animation pulled from the online metaverse IMVU. We used a bunch of Hebrew style text with a kind of 70s aesthetic mixed with a retro computer look- pretty weird.
