Superorganism - Everybody wants to Be Famous
The video for Superorganism - Everybody Wants to Be Famous follows our lead singer Orono on a psychedelic journey through a mixed-media collage visualisation of the Internet, featuring my own version of YouTube- DankVids.
I’m really obsessed with depictions of the Internet in media- from the way it’s shown as lines of green code in the Matrix to the clumsy portrayal of pixelated envelopes flying through New York City in You’ve Got Mail. My depiction focussed on Internet and meme aesthetic from the 2010s, with flying cat heads, found footage, and a disaffected teenager delving deep into the comments on her self-posted video.
We shot Orono on green screen and had a rough idea for the story of the video, then spent three weeks at Blink Industries putting it all together. This was the first video I made with a team and it was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life.
